Everyone likes hearing their own voice. But not everyone has something important to say. In fact, it is highly unlikely that everything anyone says is overly compelling. For this reason, I believe that excessive Twittering is a form of ego-blogging.

Most people recognize Wordpress as a world class blogging platform. What most people don’t realize is that Wordpress can be used to quickly and easily set up a website. In other words, the blogging platform doubles as a simple website CMS.

In order to create consistency and ensure a steady flow of blog posts for their readers, some bloggers choose to auto-post their newest del.icio.us links. I am definitely not a big fan of this technique. In fact, I think it’s lazy and reduces the overall perception of the blog.

The term “feature creep” is often used to describe a product or service overridden with features to a point where the overall offering becomes less functional. Rather than focus on a few outstanding features, a myriad of substandard features are crammed into the product, diminishing the overall value and utility. I think the same can be said for blogs — and the abuse use of widgets.

The frenzy days of web 2.0 are over. Thank God. With it, many of the buzz words parted, although some continue to linger. Among the lingering stragglers, “AJAX” continues to nab the spotlight from time to time. Its slickness and interactivity have been applauded by many, while others believe this technology is on the way out.
